Wedding Photography | Sledmere House Walled Garden

There are many things I love about wedding photography at Sledemere House. The beautiful library, licensed to hold wedding ceremonies. The beautiful staircase from which the Sledmere ‘petal drop’ takes place. The renovated barn, where couples can transition, for their evening reception. The views over the lake.

I could go on!

But among the awesome attributes of this wedding venue, is the Sledmere Walled Garden.

This gorgeous space has been undergoing a development programme for the last six years.

The garden takes on a different feel throughout the four season, but each as beautiful as the last - but spring brings a colour explosion, as 30,000 bulbs of tulips, bloom. There is also a wealth of various vegetables grown within the walls too.

And then there are the climbing roses.

This latter part of the garden reminds me of the ‘painting the roses red’ scene in Alice in Wonderland. The kid in me, find this little corner of this ‘not-so-secret-garden’ kind of magical.
