Amy and Zac got married last December, at Barmbyfields Barns, near York.

I’ve photographed at this venue a few times now and its a winner. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside, with loads of open space to use (should the weather allow). A huge barn, providing the perfect ‘blank canvas’ for wedding breakfasts / receptions, with a smaller, more intimate barn space, lit up with fairy lights and licensed to hold wedding ceremonies.

So what can I tell you about Amy and Zacs special day….?!

  • Deep plum was the theme - with discreet ‘pops’ of the colour throughout the bouquets. Amy’s shoes, lipstick and nail varnish

  • Amy and her family had rented a group of lovely cottages, where they all had breakfast and got ready on the morning of the wedding

  • The flowers were stunning!! All creations of Mouse House Floral Design

  • I spotted a load of the hen do balloons in the cottage and snaffled them in to my car (with prior permission!) for use later, during some of the bridesmaid pictures

  • Barmbyfields was decked out beautifully; fairly lights a plenty and loads of gorgeous foliage

  • The weather took a turn after the ceremony, but we kept and eye out for dry spells and shot outdoors for photos when the rain eased!….and when the rain returned and the natural light faded, we made the most of the beautiful barn, for some couples portraits

  • Amy and her dad took to the dance floor at the end of the night, which reminded me exactly why I love capturing the beginning of the evening reception…..I just love this collection of images!
