Harrogate Wedding Photographer | Couples Portraits

Harrogate Wedding Photographer | Couples Portraits

When photographing a wedding, there are times in the day when I purposefully slink in to the background, to document events just as they unfold. Yet at other times, I work directly with the bride and groom to achieve images, namely the couples portraits.

I typically whisk my couples off for a brief stint before and after the wedding breakfast, if schedules allow. This not only breaks it up nicely but, often allows me to work with changing light, as the evening draws closer.

Its actually one of my favourite parts of the day....and often the only part of the day that the couple get time alone, away from their guests (with me at a healthy distance!)

I take time to get to know my couples, as its really key that they feel at ease with me and in front of the lens. As we chat and joke, I am constantly watching the light, the image composition and the angle in which I'm shooting, to ensure that the final images are polished and flattering – as well as authentic and natural.

Here are a handful of pictures of the lovely Elaine and Gareth, at their wedding earlier this year at Rudding Park, near Harrogate, North Yorkshire. These two were an absolute pleasure to work with (despite the fact that Gareth's rover zealous golf buggy driving, nearly had us all in the lake!!) :-)
