Leeds Wedding Photographer | Burnsall Wedding | Burnsall Village Hall

I love getting bookings for weddings in Burnsall. Not least of all, because it is just beautiful….but it’s also nostalgic for me, as we had our own wedding reception in the same lovely little village.

Katy and Marc’s Burnsall wedding was ace….

  • Katy really was one of the smiliest brides you could ever hope to work with! She literally laughed the whole way through the day (with a teeny tiny episode of happy tears during the ceremony)….and that alone would have been enough to make this wedding awesome.

  • All the various parts of Katy and Marc’s day were held in close proximity, which really made the most of those wedding day hours. Katy rented a gorgeous little cottage in Burnsall, to get ready in with her mum, sister and friends. A 2 minute drive took us to the local church where Katy and Marc tied the knot, and they then sauntered across the road to their drinks reception. After a few hours of drinks, canapés and garden games, the guests made the 30 second jaunt on to Burnsall Village Hall, for dinner followed by the evening reception

  • Katy and Marc have a completely gorgeous little boy, Max. I loved snapping him as he went about his business, on the wedding day.

  • A festival was going on in Burnsall on the same day, so we avoided the village centre for the couples portraits and group shots, and instead sought out a handful of other photography spots that I know in that area. The field behind the Village Hall is one of my favourites - it gets great light and the long grasses look really effective in photos.

  • The gorgeous ‘naked’ wedding cake was made by a friend of Katy’s and the venue styling had a gin theme. I love weddings. I love cake. I love gin. BOOM.

  • Katy mentioned early in the day how much she adored her grandad, and its only when I got to downloading and editing the wedding images that I spotted Katy’s grandad had reached out to touch her arm, as she walked back down the aisle, on her way out of the church, as a newly married woman. I loved that!

  • Katy’s grandad wore the green star shades, better than any other wedding guest (bar none!)

  • Katy and Marc’s couples portraits, after dinner, were right up there with my faves this year….so much so one of the images made it to prime position, on my website homepage (big compliment guys!!)

Thanks Katy and Marc to inviting me to photograph your brilliant wedding day :-)
